Belated introduction. (Lazy confessions)
Introductions? I'm Cat Sweet, barely breeching the gap between former and latter day SIG. BMC '01, George School '02, BMC I '03, BMC I '04, BMC II '05, BMC II '06. Didn't get to go back this year due to a crescendo of weird home issues, underground custody battle, and a general economic deficiancy of all parties involved.
Anyway, I was little and quiet, talked big and looked like a scared rabbit most of the time for my first couple years. '04 I started to make noise, but not much - mostly affiliated with my mildly notorious associations with Sean Barrett and Laugh Tracks own-age. '05 was my loudest, at the peak of my awkward experiments with fashion (while I still didn't know what the hell was going on), and the 'free hug' signs (including classic 'free hugs', and others such as 'hug me?', 'please donate a hug to my self-esteem' and 'one last round of hugs?'), and another round of theatre-crushing. '06 things petered out a little, mostly noted for high pigtails, and sketchy assosiations with my roomate Marissa Wilk. Also wrote the ohmygod terrrrible
Broadway Beckons musical (trying to string together as many songs that didn't relate to eachother as I could in less than half of one Study/Tutorial period), and, have you guessed that I'll bring up Laugh Tracks again?

and I were talking about the books about gifted students currently being published. A lot of them are interesting, but relatively few of them actually deal with us
. We see aspects of ourselves in these books, but we don't see our experiences. So we were wondering: if there were a book about the experiences of being a gifted child or a gifted student, what would you want to see in there to best represent you?
Humor us. We're curious. Current Mood: curious

Never really got in trouble. Got juiced. Heh.... new the girl who did the first juciing... was her escort out of the cafeteria that day... even though i didnt even realize it....

Hello.. this is Liz Boden. I just saw this "community" on gil's page, (i just got an LJ recently) and thought i'd send a shout out to see if there's anyone that was around bmc 98-01..? I'm missing the old sig forum! Current Mood: bouncy

So, stumbled across this community whilest bored... and was all yay! Friends from back in the day! Whooo!
Right. So, I'm La... I was at BMC 1997 - 2002 and at Drew in 2001 and 2002... ummm I wore a Slinky on my wrist for a while, and once had purple hair, and dated Dan Roda at some point. I was the "light girl"... I did most of the tech stuff for special programs in my later years as a camper, and hosted the talent show in 2002 with Liz, Spike, Steve and Don. I also hosted the talent show both years that I was at Drew, and in 2002 was Columbia in the Time Warp. I was also one of the creators of "The Goodhart Murders", made in 2000. Ummmm I guess that's all I can say unless you want me to go back and figure out my schedual from each and every year. I could, but it would take a while.
Anyway, just wanted to say Hi!

[Begin obligitory introduction sequence here]
I'll be at BMC for both sessions this year as a counciler with some as-yet unknown group of the older SIGies. Only just got hired...haven't even gotten my paperwork yet. Unlike most of you all, however, I've never been to SIG before. *waits for the shocked gasps to die down*. Indeed...I kept hearing about it from dokool
and roughly half the people I went to school with at Simon's Rock College and was looking for stuff to do this summer "for fun and profit". So this should be quite interesting, although I'll polly end up having a bunch of people who will be more than willing to help enlighten me. ^_^;
[End obligitory introduction sequence]
So the actual point of this post: is anyone besides me (staff, that is) planing on arriving the 24th instead of the 25th? I'm told they'll put people up at the college for the night and have figured out that I'll probably be arriving in town on one of the commuter trains sometime after 5pm (after a 9 hour Amtrak ride from Rochester, NY to Penn Station to Philly that is; sucks not having a car) and I'm wondering if there will be anyone to meet there besides the adult staff already on campus.

I am Nicole, i did the speach in 2000, and was known as the mommy mouse to the crazy-mice (mailing list for sig bmc). i dated tony goh if that helps anyone.
i'm sad to hear how much camp has changed since i left (security concerns etc).
anyway, yea for LJ communities.

Someone new! *shock*
So I know a good half of the people here, including myself. I'm Dan, former SIGgie (George School '98 '99 and the Mawr '01), and future counselor. Just got off the phone with Charlie a few minutes ago, I'll probably be doing Vassar I and BMC II, same as razorangelwings
Those of you who were at BMC'01 may remember the SIGumentary: Finding Pierce film. I was part of the group that continues to take responsibility for that, and I may even find the old Hi-8 tape and re-do it one day so that the copies floating around are better than 4th-gen VHS...

Intro Post ^_^
I thought I'd post here...sorry if anyone objects to me being the first poster. But at any rate...I think 'twould be useful to have a sort of introduction database on here...since as much as we might like to I don't think any
of us knows everyone
from SIG BMC. So perhaps all new ((and current)) members could reply to this post with a short introduction about themselves, and it could be linked in the community info for when more people join? What do you think? Current Mood: chipper
